Have mother's china and need to know value. It has txt Verona stamp on back but the smaller pieces have Iona on them. It appears to have a vine of shamrocks around the outside edge. Can you help me?
Hi there. Thanks for writing in. The patterns that you are referring to were made by Taylor, Swift and Taylor Pottery. The company was founded in the late 1800s and closed around 1980. They made many patterns of collectible china over the years and became well-known as producers of American made china and pottery.
I haven't been able to find the specific patterns that you are referring to based on your description; however, Replacements LTD. has some patterns from both the Iona and Verona dinnerware lines and I have seen some for sale on eBay.
Generally, these are good places to compare dishes to determine the value; however, nothing that I have found is comparable your set based on your description. Because the dinnerware is collectable, and because the company was in business for such a long time, it will be best for you to do a little research to find out more about the particular pattern that you have.
